Unlike traditional bullying, cyber bullying can happen at any time and reach a wide audience instantly. Harmful content may remain online for long periods, making emotional recovery more difficult and increasing psychological distress.

Cyber bullying is often driven by emotional, social, and environmental factors. The lack of face-to-face interaction online reduces empathy and increases aggressive behavior.
